Julia Janssen is an artist, researcher, public speaker, digital/human rights advocate and data protection ambassador. She is known for her thought-provoking art installations. She takes people behind the surface of the internet and exposes the truth about the apps and platforms we all know and use. Janssen creates awareness and movement towards a digital future that is not build on commercial incentives but thriving on public values and digital/human rights.

Her current focus: If we only live within the mere margins of algorithms, then what does it mean to be human?
‘AI is excusing surveillance, exhausting data, exploiting vulnerabilities, and relegation of humans. Our brains are muscles that need exercise. The more we rely on AI, the less resourceful and creative we become. The more we talk to chatbots, the more alienated we’ll become from other people and their thoughts and ideas.'
